To date, there have been two different phases of public engagement.  The PCA’s submission can be viewed here.

Many other organisations also made submissions, including Bellarine Community Health (BCH).  Their approach was very different to most, so if you would like to read it, please email pca.portarlington@gmail.com and a copy will be sent to you.

The next and final stage is when the draft Statement of Planning Policy is issued by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).  This will be a crucial document that will have significant ramifications for planning decisions in Greater Geelong.  It is the intent of all nine community associations across the Bellarine to see settlement boundaries specified and protected for Bellarine townships and to preserve the character of those townships.

The draft statement will be released shortly and an opportunity for feedback will be provided.
